Eline's first 4x4 experience

Eline is driving ... Ton is CB'ing. After a 1.5 hour trip from Vancouver to Chilliwack, we arrived at the bottom of the trail. The temperature was around 11 degrees Celsius and it was somewhat cloudy. We took 2 cars up to the mountain trail, Nick's Toyota and my (Ton) Nissan Pathfinder (Chilkoot version 1998, just bought it in July of 1998). With were with 4 people, Nick Levens (driver), Frans Luit (camera), Eline van Gelder and me (Ton Ensink, driver). During this trip Eline drove her first trail part, as well as Frans.

He we go!

It's Nick Levens who leads the pack. Again, Nick was a great instructor. He's a 4x4 driver for years now and did lots of trails in British Columbia. He is a very experienced 4x4-er. Click here for details about our Nissan Pathfinder.

Today was also the first day that we used our CB radio's during a 4x4 trip. We had a lot of fun using this form of communication. And sometimes it comes in really handy.

Yes, it's us ... in the back.

Production team

Our video production team of 1. The images on this page are the courtesy of Frans Luit, the one and only member of the production team. Without his effort this page would have never looked the way it does right now. The images are 'snapped' from his video camera using his Macintosh computer system and were ready to go, just a few hours after we returned home.

Frans, like last time ... thanks a lot for your quick service.

Lunch break ... and more.

Eline is heating her ... on the engine. Cold feet?

Hungry? Sandwiches for the drivers (Ton and Nick).

Back home

Look at this sunset, on the way back home from Chilliwack to Vancouver on the Trans Canadian Highway (highway 1). Mother Nature has been very good to us today. The BC Sunset on Highway 1.
